Eavesdropping

• CONCEALMENT To properly listen to another conversation, you need to be either hidden or properly disguised. You cannot be looking at the person talking, (unless they are not looking at you.) If you are eavesdropping over the phone or a recorder, the above won't apply. However, tape recorders must be hidden carefully. Bad zones to put them in are cabinets, in open air, or anyplace the victim uses or opens often. Good hiding places are, say, an "extra" unopened box of bleach, or a bag on the dusty top shelf, too high to reach without a stool. Dusty places are a sign that the victim doesn't use them often, a good hiding place. (for a person or a recorder!)
• SUPPLIES Without a photographic memory, you should copy every word with a pen and a pad. Also pay attention to body language. Is she lying to him? Is he nervous? Note on that, too. Make sure you have an escape route in case you are caught.
